From welcome to farewell

Every day with Ganesh

Follow these simple steps from the main festival puja through daily worship and your family’s farewell.

1. Choose your worship days

Choose how long Ganesh will remain installed. Installation counts as day 1. You can add or update your dates in your account after payment. Follow your family’s custom when changing a commitment already made during worship.

2. Prepare your puja space

Keep the area clean and arrange water, flowers, customary offerings and a lamp. Keep fragile clay idols dry. An adult should handle flames, away from children and loose clothing.

3. Complete the main festival puja

Follow your family’s chosen order for the opening prayers, offerings, full vrata story, chanting, harati and prasadam. Keep the idol in place for the remaining worship days.

4. Offer morning worship

Refresh water, flowers and food offerings. Remember Ganesh, say your customary prayers and offer harati. Share prasadam. Daily worship does not repeat the installation or the main festival’s dated sankalpam.

5. Gather for evening harati

Prepare the lamp and offerings, chant together and sing harati. You may use Om śrī gaṇeśāya namaḥ — salutations to Shri Ganesh — at a comfortable pace. Leave the idol installed and extinguish the flame safely afterward.

6. Complete the farewell

On your chosen final day, offer worship, harati and gratitude. Follow your household’s closing prayers before moving a temporary idol. Use an appropriate local immersion arrangement for its material. For a permanent home idol, conclude the festival and continue regular worship without immersion.
